Dean Street Condominiums

Brooklyn, New York

An old firehouse, the original home of Brooklyn’s engine 19, was in a state of disrepair when it was sold to make way for condominium housing. Fortunately, our client was receptive to preserving and restoring the existing facade and incorporating it into the new design. By adding two and a half stories above the existing building, we were able to create seven unique one and two bedroom apartments. The front duplex sets back at the top floor underneath an angled, metal roof, which makes way for a balcony at the existing roofline and integrates the old facade with the new.
